I created this board for Johanna, a bride-to-be planning a beautiful fall wedding. She wrote to me saying that she was worried that her wedding would be "drowning in chocolate". She planned to use chocolate brown for the groom and groomsmen's attire, bridesmaid dresses, and the linens in her reception. She also wanted to include other fall colors like burnt orange, yellow, and bugundy. At first glance, this seems like a lot of brown but I created a board for her to show her how it would all come together. I included Johanna's choices for the men's suits, her wedding dress, and the beautiful venue where their wedding will take place. To this I added beautiful centerpieces including sunflowers and other fall flowers arranged in mason jars and low centerpieces that consist of pumpkins and floating candles. Bridesmaids will wear brown, strapless, tea-length dresses and carry beautiful bouquets of orange, red and yellow fall blooms. The cake table is decorated with pumpkins and gourds of many shapes and sizes. To break up some of the chocolate brown in the space, I added ivory napkins to each place setting that drape beautifully over the edge of the table. This creates a clean look and ensures that the flowers on the tables will pop. Favors for quests are miniature pumpkin pies. The beautiful fall night will be capped off as the bride and groom escape to the honeymoon in a vintage Bentley.
